Assembly
Putting this bar cabinet together was a long and tedious task. It took me around two hours to complete. There are so many pieces, so I won’t blame you if you get overwhelmed. My tip is to lay everything out on the floor first. Group them as instructed by the assembly guide. This will give you an easier time. Getting an extra pair of hand would go a long way too. You will find it useful to have someone hold the major pieces (the cabinet door and drawer) as you try to align them properly.
As you go along, you may accidentally scratch a piece or two. You may, chip off paint from it. South Shore is kind enough to provide a touch-up pen to cover those blemishes up.
Storage
This bar cabinet holds a lot. I like that there is a wine rack plus the bottom drawer that you can fill up with more bottles if there isn’t enough room. You can fit shorter bottles into the racks. On the other hand, the slide-out storage is best for your taller bottles. The drawer has an optional shelf too. You can set up the shelf if the bottles in the drawer are not too tall. If not, you can do away with it. It’s entirely up to you. The drawer is deep and tall enough to fit tall and wide liquor bottles. It slides out smoothly. You can also slide it all the way out so you’d have no problem reaching for that bottle of liquor that you plan to drink for the night.
The glass rack can accommodate 12 wine glasses. There is also space underneath, and you can use this room to store more glasses. It is very spacious.
The top drawer is handy for bar accessories like my cocktail shaker and corkscrew. We keep our ice bucket on the storage shelf under the glass rack. The towel holder is a bonus feature. You can hang a towel there so it is always within reach.
The bar cabinet is perfect for entertaining. It is a one-stop shop for your bar needs. With different types of storage, this bar cabinet gives you a lot of room.
Look
The wine cabinet is an elegant piece. This is something you would want if you’re setting up a bar at home. The finish is beautiful. My only complaint is that the back doesn’t have the same finish like the rest of cabinet. I just wish the back had a smooth finish too, so I don’t have to set it up against the wall.
The metal handles look sleek. There’s no rusting so far.
Price and Quality
This multi-functional wine cabinet is one of the less expensive pieces I’ve checked out on Amazon. I kept my expectations low. I didn’t expect much from its quality, and I was pleasantly surprised. The cabinet has had months of use. It keeps our liquor bottles organized and out of our children’s sight. I wouldn’t say out of reach, but at least they don’t get to notice and play with the bottles anymore.
I would recommend this to anyone setting up a bar at home. It has everything you can possibly want from a bar cabinet.
