Setup
The assembly starts with unloading all pieces out from the box. Unlike other bed frames the same size, the box this came with is not bulky at all. All pieces, including a ratchet, are inside one box. Everything came in pristine condition. No dents were noted on the steel pieces. The wood panels had no scratches. The included ratchet is the only tool that you would neee to tighten all screws in place.
The setup is a straightforward process. As long as you follow the steps closely, you can’t go wrong. Extra screws are available.
Make sure that you have the bed on even flooring. If it isn’t, you will most probably notice some wobbling. And if the bed wobbles, you would hear the sound of metal hitting the floor. The frame doesn’t have a pad undermeath that would possibly cover up the noise.
Support and Durability
Wooden slats come with the purchase of this bed frame. You’d have to throw your box spring away as you’re not going to need it. The slats are thick enough to support heavy mattresses. You can use a 12-inch mattress without them bending or snapping into half. You don’t have to worry about having to put each slat in place all by your slats. The slats are pre-attached with one another. Each slat is equally spaced apart from the next slat.
The metal frame is light yet durable. You will be able to move the bed if the need arises. Don’t push the frame across the floor. You must ask help from another person to lift it up and move it. The legs do not come with rubber pads, so pushing the bed would damage the floor.
The wood panel that make up the headboard is thick.
The bed frame comes in two types: standard and standard with footboard. The footboard is the same type of wood panel used for the headboard.
The headboard is pretty tall. You can sit up without any issues. Although the headboard has no cushions, it doesn’t feel too hard on the back.
The frame with the footboard is better at keeping the mattress from sliding off the frame. The slats do come with adhesive strips that ensures that the mattress stays put even without the footboard. You may have to re-position the bed from time to time, though.
