Setup
A screwdriver is required for the assembly. The box doesn’t include this tool. It is not advisable to use power tools with the shelf as the sheer force of such tools may lead to unwanted breakage of the wood pieces. It would take about an half hour to put this 4-tier shelf together.
Stability and Durability
The shelf features rubberized feet that are adjustable. They can be screwed in to keep the bookshelf from wobbling. By adjusting the feet, you can set the shelf at the right height to keep it even on the floor and stop it from wobbling. This eliminates stability issues. To ensure the safety of everyone at home, the shelf must be secured to the wall. Children may try to pull the shelf toward them. It can possibly tip forward and prove hazardous. The shelf is a bit lightweight, so attaching it to the wall would be helpful. Don’t get me wrong, though. Although the bookshelf is a bit light, you can easily tell that it is solid and sturdy.
The steel frame keeps the shelf’s balance. To prevent the shelf from tipping forward, weight should be equally distributed on each shelf. In addition, items that are heavier are much better off at the bottom rather than on top.
The shelves are made of thick pressed wood. Although they are not solid wood, they are still sturdy enough for their purpose. Before purchasing this shelf, you must understand that this isn’t a fancy shelf. Solid wood does create a much durable shelf, but the price of HSH’s storage shelf more than compensates for that. This is far less expensive than shelves made with solid wood. It won’t hurt your wallet like other shelves would. This is by no means an heirloom piece that you can pass on to your grandchildren. However, if all you’re looking for is a shelf you can use for a few years then you’re all set.
Space and Style
The shelf is wide. It offers so much space without occupying a large space in the room. It is suitable for use in apartments and small rooms. It won’t get in the way as long as you push it against the wall. A tip that I can offer for you is to get baskets to place on the shelf. Baskets could better organize your things and allow you to put more of them without falling off the shelf. Your shelf would also look less messy with the baskets hiding your items from view.
The steel tube frame, including the cross bar at the back, gives the shelf a modern look. On the other hand, the brown shelf create a rustic vibe. The two distinct styles blend well together. The bookshelf would go match nicely with both modern and vintage interiors.
