Assembly
Brace yourself for 3 to 4 hours of assembly because that’s how long it’s going to take. The directions aren’t the best, but you get to figure out which bolt goes where just by the look of it. The pieces are labelled and that helped a lot. Before you start, make sure you set everything on the floor and sort the pieces out according to their label. If you have a messy jumble of random pieces in front of you, you’d take twice the time needed to put this 7-piece set. Check if you have every piece of hardware as well. In case you lose one or two, you’d be happy to know that there are a few extras.
Although the tools are included, do yourself a favor and use a power drill. There are some areas that are more fragile than others where an Allen wrench would be useful. I assembled this on my own but I’m sure another set of hands would have been helpful.
The assembly is tedious, but it sure is rewarding. By the time I was finished with the assembly, I felt very tired. However, seeing the set come together beautifully made me forget about that.
Multiple Configurations
What I like best about this outdoor wicker set is that it allows multiple configurations. You can style it according to your space. You use the included seat clips to keep the arrangement of your choice. The clips go at the bottom of the seats and keep them from sliding apart. The seats are lightweight and would move from its place without the clips. I do like the fact that the seats are light. That makes them easy to move if needed or if I feel like rearranging the pieces again.
Comfortable Seats
I was worried that the seats were too low to the ground. Once you add in the cushions though, the seats feel and look like the regular height. I find the back’s height just right but someone taller may find it a bit low. Nevertheless, everyone in the house enjoys sitting on the sectional and finds it comfortable.
The cushions don’t come with Velcro strips to stick them onto the seats. I had to get them from the hardware store and they were really cheap. With the Velcro, the seat and back cushions stay put. The 2 pillows are a great addition. A lot of wicker sets don’t come with free pillows.
Beautiful and Sturdy Set
The pop of blue catches the eye and looks great near our pool. I have received a lot of compliments for it. So far, the entire PE rattan set is holding up well. The table, which gets a lot of use, is easy to clean and is stable.
Getting a cover for the set is advisable. It would help keep your set clean when it’s not in use. The cover would prevent it from getting too much sun too. The heat can eventually cause damage to the wicker, so covering it could keep that from happening. I am planning to buy one soon.
