First Things First
This thing is so easy to set up. You just screw in the legs and off you go. You don’t even need any instructions to put this together.
I was surprised to see how big the planter is. It’s wider than expected. It’s so big you could fit a couple of plants in it! The depth is great too. You can grow carrots, herbs, and almost anything in it. I turned my planter into a herb garden. I have basil, cilantro, parsley, and rosemary.
At first, I didn’t think much about the built-in water reservoir, but I appreciated it more later on. I love how I was able to leave my plants for a week when I had a work trip. My plant survived nonetheless. I highly recommend this if you are a beginner in gardening. If you tend to forget to water your plants for a day or two, this is just the garden bed for you.
Height
The planter is a good height. I like the convenience of not having to bend or kneel just to tend to my plants. This elevated garden bed is perfect for people who like gardening but have a bad neck or back.
I just got another planter for my grandma. She was beyond grateful for it. She said her dog can no longer reach her cherry tomatoes now that they’re up high.
Water Indicator
It’s easy to tell if the plants need watering. There’s no need for some guesswork. The planter has an indicator that looks like a cute little plant. If it’s green, you need to water it. If it turns red, that means you need to turn the spout to drain out excess water. If it’s raining a lot, I simply keep the drain open so the plants won’t get too much water.
For Indoor and Outdoor Use
This thing works both outdoors and indoors, which is great. My herbs need sunlight, so I usually have the planter on my deck. I take it indoors during winter though. I just have it in the kitchen, the part of my house that the sunlight can reach.
In My Opinion
I would recommend this beautiful and functional garden bed to anyone. It has an attractive woven rattan design. We recently got an outdoor table and chair set from Keter, and they match perfectly.
The color hasn’t faded a bit after months of having this under the sun. I’m happy I stopped using a wooden garden bed. They kept disintegrating after only 2 or 3 months of use. On the other hand, this one has survived through all weather conditions! I would buy this again in a heartbeat.
