First Things First
I got this GreenForest metal bed frame to replace an old one and to get rid of my box spring. I felt that the box spring wasn’t giving enough airflow for my mattress. This can cause molds to build up. I actually didn’t expect to find a bed frame that was as cheap as this. I won’t blame you if you have doubts about the frame’s quality. Anyway, I decided to take my chance. I am happy to say that the gamble paid off.
The box the bed frame came in was surprisingly small. It was easy to carry from the doorstep all the way into my bedroom. That’s a big plus because I live on my own. I know for sure that none of my neighbors would help me. Everything you can possibly need is in the box. That includes the tools and hardware. I laid out all of the parts and hardware on the floor before I started with the assembly. I think I had an easier time because of that. The assembly wasn’t easy but not exceedingly difficult either. I made sure to tighten the screws to keep the bed frame from squeaking. Once set up, the bed frame appears very stable.
Design
You can make the bed frame work in any room, thanks to its simple design. If you prefer minimalist design, this is for you. It has a headboard and footboard which keep the mattress in place. There is just no way your mattress could slide off the frame. A standard twin bed fits well.
There are about 12 inches of clearance underneath the frame. The room underneath is where I store my luggage plus a few boxes that contain clothes that I no longer wear. It’s a nice place to keep old toys too. Extra storage space is always appreciated if you have limited space in the room.
The height of the bed frame is just what I wanted. Although there is a clearance underneath, the bed frame is not too high off the floor. At the same time, I can easily slip in and out of the bed. The extra height is something box spring users would miss. But as a past user myself, I’d say I don’t miss it at all.
Durability
The platform bed is lightweight, but don’t let the weight fool you. It is as solid as a decent bed frame can get. I am hard to please when it comes to furniture, but I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of the bed frame. I won’t suggest jumping on the bed with this frame, though. I highly recommend this bed frame for guest rooms and even for a kid’s bedroom.
It doesn’t squeak or creak as I move to another position. This makes for a restful sleep. I am a light sleeper so I’m grateful for that. I know how squeaking sounds can get pretty annoying and wake you up in the middle of the night – been there, done that.
